Even though Netbeans is a great Java editor, it is not perfect, and its pace is often slow compared to other IDEs, especially from Microsoft.
These are some of the reasons we can’t expect Netbeans IDE to get everything. We should keep it simple and instead turn to other IDEs that can do everything.

WinFBE is a total solution for FreeBasic users that need to compile small applications for Windows. The best way to produce these applications is using the WinFBE compiler and editor. The WinFBE author, Zoltan Varga, is a long time advocate of FreeBasic and supports it. Therefore, he decided to release the project as open source to help the community.
For the WinFBE compiler, he released WinFBE 2.0 that includes a bundled version of the Scintilla editing library for Windows. WinFBE 2.0 is a major upgrade with several major and minor improvements. One of the major improvement is that WinFBE now compiles for x86 and x64 CPUs, including both 32bit and 64bit systems. This is a major upgrade as FreeBasic programs will run natively without any problems on new Windows machines. On older machines where 32bit x86 CPUs can be accessed, WinFBE 2.0 can compile FreeBasic programs and run them fine without any problems.
